Fun to walk across even in the cold and rain. Look for the gold dome of the state house. Great views!

On a nice day it's the best view of Boston. Walk across (recommended) on the side near the Museum of Science for less traffic and wider sidewalk. Of course the other side has the better view.

The Viking statues were commissioned by Eben Horsford, a Harvard professor who believed Vikings colonized Boston 500 years before the Puritans. He also invented baking powder.

Connects Cambridge/Boston. Opened 1906. Renamed Longfellow Bridge 1927 in recognition of his poem "The Bridge." Nicknamed Salt & Pepper Bridge for towers looking like shakers. More info in blog.

It's a good place for a run and also a good spot to see the Boston skyline.
